Air cargo Europe is an international trade fair for the freight industry, taking place in Germany since 2003. It is the biggest trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management. It allows us to meet international specialists in air transport, as well as to listen to seminars. The next ninth edition of Air cargo Europe 2023 will be held in Munich on the 9th-12th of May 2023.
Air cargo Europe 2023 and previous editions
It is the first on-site meeting since the pandemic started, as in 2021, the conference was held online. The attendance, as usual, was very high, and although the online form has its strengths (we do not have to travel to the fairground), it also has its weaknesses – it is difficult to network. However, this format did not disappoint its participants, and next year’s stationary edition is eagerly awaited.
The fair takes place in the Messe Munich Trade Fair Center, which has an area of over 125,000 m2. As we can see on the plan, there is a lot of space for stands and meetings.
In 2019 the last in-person edition that took place, over 2,400 exhibitors from 63 countries and regions welcomed about 64,000 visitors from 125 different countries. As we can see, the interest in this event is strong. Visitor satisfaction is also very high, as seen on the fair’s official website.
On the website, we can also read the opinions of both visitors and speakers:
We have been very impressed with the focus on product development and digital innovation. It goes hand-in-hand with what Maersk is now providing for our customers. As the global integrator of container logistics, we thrive on providing innovative solutions for our customers, many of whom we enjoyed meeting this week in Munich! Richard Bingham, director of Maersk
According to the statistics on the website, the highest percentage of participants are department heads and board members; there are also many employees and students.
Moreover, the interest in participation is growing each year – within eight years, the number of foreign visitors has almost doubled.
